Georgia Connector took a trip to Athens to find the best summer cocktails to cool the heat and kick up the fun. At The National, we enjoy an Aperol Gin Fizz, a crisp cocktail with some bubbles to take the edge off a hot afternoon. When a waft of mint blows in the breeze, we look to Richland, Georgia, the home of Richland Rum, for our Georgia Ginger Mojito. This twist on a classic packs a luscious punch and celebrates our Georgia state of mind. Georgia Ginger Mojito 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger 10 large mint leaves 1 whole lemon, juiced ¾ oz. simple syrup 1.5 oz. Richland Rum Crush ginger and mint leaves with a pestle. In a cocktail shaker, combine ingredients and mix with ice. Pour through a strainer into a chilled glass to serve. Garnish with a mint leaf and a slice of lemon. Georgia Ginger Mojito

1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger
